So buggy?

I was very excited about the new shared vault feature, so I wanted to setup a second vault with my office Passwords:

a) I can't import any password from an existing .pif file. Anything is happening when I press the import button
b) I can't locate where the second vault is saved, and despite having choose the DropBox sync, the second vault file is synced somewhere else and it doesn't sync with my laptop

So disappointed ... it seems you took ages to release the new version but didn't do any QA test. :(((

Also, on my laptop the backup function seems to fail all the time it tries.

As to failing backups, have a look at this thread and the links, and see if it helps.

Thanks ... found the answer in

Restarting the mini helper solved the problem ... so the backup agent seems to live in separate thread process

Thanks for reporting the fix: it may help others.

  • Hi @AndreaMoro,

I'm glad to hear that works. 1Password mini and 1Password both runs in separate sandboxed processes while they communicate with each other via XPC, which is the OS X's preferred system for the inter-process communications. 1Password mini handles the backup, the access to the data file to help with the browser extensions and so on.

In some cases, the XPC connections wasn't working properly, thus kicking the mini to restart itself often resolves the XPC issues. Once that's done, it shouldn't happen again and we haven't heard from anybody that it did.
