Attachments don't sync anymore from Mac to iOS
Hi,
unfortunately, in the current iOS version of 1password (4.2.7), attached jpeg pictures are not displayed anymore. The only thing displayed is a generic icon placeholder graphic ".jpg" and, below this line, the term "JPEG Picture" (I use the German version, so the actual item says "JPEG-Bild").
Showing picture attachments in the iOS version (synced from the Mac version) was one of the major achievements of version 4 on iOS, so it's very disappointing that this bug (?) prevents the picture feature from working. I use this for credit card or passport images.
The pictures were added on the Mac version 3 of 1P and used to be synced (via Dropbox) and displayed on the iOS until recently.
This bug appears both on the iPhone and iPad. Any one with the same bug and/or a solution proposal?
Thanks!
Regards Jochen

Additional info: Pictures that are newly added are (!) synced, but older ones are not, as described above. So with one of the last updates on iOS the graphics attachment must have been corrupted. But it can't be a solution to delete all current picture attachments and re-add and re-sync them. Especially if we use the app that is by far the most expensive in the market...

I also noticed that attached images that used to be displayed in the iOS version are missing. I'm not sure when they disappeared, but I specifically went to look for them after today's update to version 4.3, and they are no longer there.
The new update also does not fix the problem of being unable to delete attachments in iOS versions. I have as many as three dummy entries where versions of the same attachment used to be. The title is preserved for each empty copy, but when I tap on the title, the name of the file show with the information that it is a JPEG Image. But there is no image. If I try to edit such records, there is no option to delete such fields.
Edit: I just returned to the the Mac version (4.0.2 release) and discovered that the missing JPEG attachment was missing on the desktop too, so I'm not certain when the attachment tunend up missing. I added the image back on the desktop, and it did sync over to iOS version 4.3. But now I have three empty entries for this image, plus the one genuine entry in iOS. This count increments by one each time I have to add the attachment back.

I saw your post, so I checked my attachments on my iPhone 5 - I see the attachments in the iOS, they are there but won't display on the iPhone. Either jpg or png. This using the 1PW iOS update of today 4.3.
And it would certainly help to be able to delete them on an iOS device.
I'm syncing to iCloud.

@Hawkmoth (referring to: "I just returned to the the Mac version (4.0.2 release) and discovered that the missing JPEG attachment was missing on the desktop too"): I am still on version 3 of the Mac software, and fortunately the attachments are still there. If not I would really be angry since 1P keeps telling me that I can safely delete the files I have attached since they are safe within 1P... :-S
It would really be good to have a comment from agilebits here.

as Dropbox sync (as we already know) deletes attachments I today realized that also Wi-Fi sync does NOT add attachments to the iOS version! (I am using 4.3/4.0.3)

Yep they do but are busy trying to fix the issues at hand. There are a couple posts around about it, There seem to be numerous issues with sync at the moment. They have doubled down on fixing the issues and are trying to answer as many folks as possible.
Hang in there a bit longer is all I can say. Wish I had better news for you.

Hi all,
Thanks so much for taking the time to report this issue. I'd like to apologize for the inconvenience here. Our developers are working around the clock to get this sorted out, and you should see an update soon that will get things back to normal.
Again, thank you for your patience - as @thightower says, we've been a bit busy since the launch of 1Password 4, but we're all putting in extra hours to get back to our usual snappy responses.
If you're still seeing issues after the update, please let us know! :)

I installed 4.0.7 beta 1 yesterday and noticed this. After syncing between OSX to IOS, attachments from OSX do indeed appear in IOS. However, previous attachments in IOS are not deleted. It works only one way. Perhaps the same bug as others are experiencing is causing this. The only solution appears to be to duplicate an entry on OSX, re-sync, then delete the old one. I use iCloud for syncing.

This is a known problem with the iOS application that is awaiting a fix from the developers. The advice I've receive about it is to create a new record for the offending one, then delete the older one. It works, but it's only a workaround until it gets fixed properly.

Hi @makeintosh,
Thanks for sharing your experience here. You and @hawkmoth are correct, the current workaround is to create a new entry with the proper attachments and delete the entry with the duplicates.
I apologize for the inconvenience, we're working to get it fixed as soon as possible!

the attachments on my latest updated iPhone app are not being synced to my 1password app on Mac OSX version 4 on any of the 4 machines I use. Obviously not a hardware issue as it is occurring on every single device I own.
Bit frustrating seeing as one has forked over $100's to get this software running and the problem is being talked about here for the last 3 months.
Sorry to say but it doesn't look like agile is taking care of it to me.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having trouble getting your attachments synced up. I'd love to hear a bit more about the problem so we can find a solution for you!
- What are the version numbers of 1Password and your operating systems for all computers and devices currently running 1Password?
- What are you using to keep your devices in sync?
The more information we can get about your situation, the easier it will be to get this solved :)

Having the same issue here, using all of the latest updated versions on the desktop and iOS. Attachments simply do not sync to iOS.
I emailed the support team, but haven't received a response yet. Love the product and have become dependent on it, but this is a critical problem that needs a solution.

Hi @jwilpon,
I do apologize for the trouble here. What are you using to keep your data in sync? It is a Known Issue that attachments do not (yet) sync via Wi-Fi.

Do they have an ETA (for sync via Wi-Fi) or is this proving problematic? I've just downloaded 4.5.1 and even went as far as erasing all data from my iPhone to see if a fresh sync would pick up the attached files. It would seem the problem is still present :-(

Hello @littlebobbytables. I'm sorry for the trouble that you're running into. We do have a number of improvements planned for Wi-Fi sync, but we do not have an ETA for when those improvements will be finished.
