Did not get data from 1Password 3 for Mac
When I installed 1Password 4 for Mac, it did not acquire the right data file from 1Password 3. Indeed it is clear I somehow have two vaults. All my data on my Mac (1Password 3), iPhone and iPad seems fine, and Dropbox will correctly propagate a change across the devices. But not 1Password 4. I see in Dropbox there are two vaults. The one that 1Password 4 acquired is an older vault, which has an older password. In addition, if I try to access 1Password via the internet (as if I was on another computer) it also picks up this older vault. Should I attempt to merge the two vaults or delete the older one. My problem seems to be a variation on others in the discussions and I wanted to make sure I did not foul up my data. thx very much.

Update.
Uninstalled 1Password 4 and 1Password 3.
Turned off DropBox synching on my iPhone and iPad.
Deleted all 1Password files from my DropBox account.
Turned DropBox synching back on, repopulating the data in DropBox from my iPad and iPhone.
Reinstalled 1Password 3.
1Password 3 worked fine, with the password I had been using on my Mac, iPad and iPhone.
Installed 1 Password 4.
Attempted to open it with the same password as before (and on my iPad and iPhone). Would not open.
Opened with an older password, and only one data entry (the same thing as I described before).
I am baffled. I assume 1Password 4 installation is looking at an old OSX keychain for the password which is associated with limited data.
Any ideas?0 -
I had the same problem - 1Password 4 just wouldn't sync with Dropbox. I switched to iCloud syncing on my iPhone. Once that was working, I launched 1Password on the Mac. It actually detected iCloud syncing and worked fine from then on. Maybe you could go back to Dropbox later on?

Hi Mike,
It looks like 1Password4 created a new path that was unpopulated. I tried to move the old data into the new path, but that did not work. Here is the source of the problem. 1Password3 was bought from AgileBits. I botched the upgrade process thinking I could get 1Password4 either free or upgraded on iTunes. I believe the two versions don't quite work together. I deleted the iTunes downloaded 1Password4 and then downloaded the AgileBits 1Password4 and the problem went away (after I deleted all the data from my Mac and DropBox and then synched via DropBox from the data on my iPad and iPhone.) All works now. thx0 -
Hi @arsdc202,
Thanks for the update, I'm glad you got it resolved. You're correct, the two different app versions will not work together, we usually encourage folks to maintain the same app version when upgrading (website to website, Mac App Store > Mac App Store). A cross-upgrade between both requires a proper migration.
