No timed lock when "Lock on sleep" is unchecked

Seems strange that 1Password cannot calculate time past if the computer has been slept. I have "Lock on sleep" unchecked, and I have "Lock after computer is idle for" set to 60 minutes. If my computer sleeps for 8 hours, then it's been idle that long... Correct? Yet when I wake it in the morning, 1Password is not locked. I would like it to lock after 60 minutes of inactivity, sleep or no sleep.

  • Hi Mr. K,

Sleeping is not the same as idling; when the computer is sleeping, everything is paused and powered down the lowest levels to conserve battery including 1Password's auto-lock timer. When the computer is idling, it just means there's no keyboard/mouse activity from you but everything is still running. Emails are still coming in, background tasks are still occurring, and so on.

If you wake up the computer and start doing something, then whatever idle timer that 1Password has before you sleep the Mac is now reset because there's activity now. As long as you're not doing anything involving your keyboard/mouse for 60 minutes, 1Password should then lock itself.
