No longer possible to rename tags? [available in 4.2]
Today I tried to rename a tag by right-clicking it, as you could in 1P3, and the "rename" option is gone! Now there is only "delete"...
Unfortunately renaming tags is essential to my workflow in certain scenarios, as described here:

Please tell me I'm missing something or this feature is going to be added back?

You're not missing anything right now - there is currently no way to rename tags. However, our developers are working to make it possible in the future. I do apologize for the inconvenience, we really appreciate your patience.

Hi, @semblance.
Until tag renaming is supported in 1P4 there's this workaround:
- Add the new tag name to an item which has the current tag name
- Select the current tag in the sidebar
- Select all items and drag them into the new tag name in the sidebar
- Delete the current tag in the sidebar
Of course you might already know and be using that. :)

Unfortunately we can't provide many details about when unreleased features and improvements will be added - there's just too many factors involved, many of which are beyond our control. We certainly don't want to promise something and then be unable to deliver. I can tell you though, that it is something that we would like to make possible.

Yup, it's mentioned in 1Password 4 for Mac Release Notes:
- Easily rename tags directly within the sidebar
