When editing the attachment file in a database it cannot be saved directly to the database but it must be saved under new name and then dragged to the database. When saving this file, under new name, to the default folder, where is it saved. How to locate the folder & file? Is this new file encrypted/protected? br. PekkaT

    1. You can't edit saved attachments in 1P4 (as you have discovered).
    2. I think where it is saved depends on whether you are using the Mac App Store version (which is sandboxed) or the AgileBits' store version. I'm not aware of an easy way to find where the attachment is stored but you can go to Preferences > Backup > Show files and then move up a folder in Finder and explore (carefully!) a little.

The saved attachment should be encrypted within 1P4.

Thanks. I am using AgileBit's store version. Can you confirm that the new file saved in the default location can not be accessed by anyone, as I cannot access it myself. PekkaM

Sorry @PekkaT, I'm not sufficiently expert to know the details of how encrypted attachments work in 1P4. :) I think we'll have to wait for someone from AgileBits to comment when they have more time.

    Hi @PekkaT,

I'd like to apologize for the delay in responding but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're working hard to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.

Attachments saved in 1Password are stored and encrypted in your 1Password.agilekeychain file along with your Logins and other information. Is this what you mean by default location?

Our tech gurus are currently working on fixing a bug that prevents attachments from being properly deleted. It sounds like you might be experiencing this problem. I do apologize for any inconvenience here, we'll try to have it fixed just as soon as possible!

If you have any further concerns regarding attachments, please let us know :)
