Setting to define the location of the vaults
I would like to be able to define the location of the vaults. So I can have the vaults stored in a more accessible place or on a different drive. Is there a way to do that? There's nothing in the user interface. Maybe in a configuration file?

You define the location via the sync preferences, If you need to relocate an item its best to turn off sync and do the move and then turn it back on.
This is of Dropbox setup, the second is what you would see if you turned off sync and its waiting on you to turn it back on and select the location. I believe you would most likely use the folder option. I don't use it so I am not familiar with it that much.

Tom is correct here. You can enable the sync, either with Dropbox or Folder Sync, and have it stored wherever you want it.
In 1Password 4, all of your vaults are stored in the same database file internally, it doesn't get stored anywhere else.
