1Password needs naming convention to distinguish MAS and Store versions

Assuming the MAS and Store versions are going to continue along parallel but different paths, with only the MAS version being sandboxed and supporting iCloud, can I suggest it would help a lot of people (including me) if the version name clearly identified itself as either the MAS or the Store version?

I certainly wish people would say which version they're running when they post with problems on the forum! :)

The apps themselves are named differently in your applications folder. The Mac App Store version is named 1Password while the AgileBits Webstore version is named 1Password4.

It would be nice for folks to ID the version when posting issues with one or the other.

I agree a naming convention would be nice.

I don't think we should just call it 1Password as me/you/and the staff may interpret it as 1Password 3 or as I call it 1Password Classic. ;)

  • Hi guys,

I'll pass the feedback to the team and we'll see what we can do about adding this info to the About 1Password dialog.

    Thanks!
