I have too many versions

I'm a long time 1Password user and I'm very happy with the product. I decided to try the beta version and I've been downloading the various beta updates for the past few months.

I'm using Mavericks and today I was notified that there was an update for 1Password4 and I installed it.
I have two versions in my Applications folder on my mac now:

1Password which is version 4.0.5, and
1Password4 which is version 4.0.7 BETA

I tried to launch the updated version 4.0.5 and was treated as a new user. I pointed the app to my data file and was presented with the MasterPassword dialogue box. When I typed in my master password there was no response from the app, it just stopped responding until I quit it.
I then launched the beta version seems to be working fine, so I am back in business albeit temporarily. I'm wondering if I have to remove the BETA version before I go back to using the version from the App store.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour yet?
