Username and Password not filling-in when URL is chrome://extension

I've gotten 1Password for Mac to open up a new Chrome tab with the correct URL using "chrome://extension....secure.html#login" but it won't fill-in the username and password. I'm doing this for the new Mega extension. Anyone know how to get this to work? Is it even possible with extensions?
