Using two Macs, one with OS 10.8, the other with OS 10.6

I have 1password 4.0.5, but I also have the previous version 3.8.21.

The newer version works fine on my iMac with OSX Mavericks, but I have an elderly macbook with OS 10.6. I want to install 1 password on the Macbook: Can I install 3.8.21 and sync it with 4.0.5? Or are they two separate systems.

  • @SamFro 1Password 4 for Mac can sync its data with 1Password 3 for Mac using Dropbox, so there’s no issue using both.

I'm in a spot like SamFro, but DropBox isn't an answer for me (IT Nazis ...). Now I'm using 1Password3, and WiFi sync to my iPhone. That works pretty well, as long as I remember to turn on the iPhone WiFi. Can 1Password3 on a Mac sync with 1Password4 on iOS? How about 1Password4 on a Mac and 1Password3 on iOS??
    Thanx in advance.

To use wifi sync between a Mac and an iOS device you must be running 1P4 for Mac on the Mac and 1P4 for iOS on the iOS device (or, alternatively, 1P3 on both). Put bluntly, 1P3 wifi sync won't talk to 1P4 wifi sync. See generally this knowledge base article.
