Cannot get started with 1Password 4 for Mac upgrade

I originally purchased 1password3 for my Retina MacBook (OSX 10.8.5) in June 2013 from your webstore, and just downloaded 1password4 as a free upgrade. When I open 1password4, I can see that it has accepted the license file, but otherwise I can do nothing. I am not asked to login. I cannot create a new Master Password, but get "Cannot change master password when a secondary vault is active. Please switch to a primary vault." I have apparently no Vault, and can't create one. "New Vault" and "File/Import" are both greyed out. 1password3 works fine, except for a database problem with the Safari extension which is reportedly fixed in 1password4 (and which is why I was upgraded). I have rebooted the MacBook. I have redownloaded 1password4. I am stuck.

    Hi @bcd92,

I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're all working hard and putting in extra hours to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.

Could you please send us a Diagnostics Report?

Download the 1Password Troubleshooting utility and follow the instructions to generate the report.

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@ agilebits .com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. Tried to reinstall and so forth, searched this Forum. Finally I noticed an unobtrusive grey box at the lower right hand corner of the Welcome window, saying "Awesome! Let's Get Started". I think this design could benefit from being changed to something splashier.

    Hi @texplex,

I'm so sorry to hear that getting started was not a simple process for you! I'll pass along to our designers that we could make this a bit more intuitive in the future. :)

Very unhappy that I am unable to get Password to work at all. Seems very inconsistent. Seems to have been released before the bugs were fixed. I tried using password for Mac 4 with Safari and no luck. I may need to ask for a refund.

    Hi @jocarmel,

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having trouble getting 1Password to work! If you'd tell me a bit more about where things are misbehaving, I'd be happy to help get you sorted out :)
