Shortcuts not working in Safari on Mavericks

I have a client with a new MacBook Pro (Retina) w/ 10.9 and all updates run. We have purchased & installed 1P and installed all the browser extensions. The extension shows up in all brewers and works as expected in Firefox & Chrome. In Safari, however, we cannot use the key command short cut to auto populate logins or even use the button in the toolbar. We can only manually copy and paste. Obviously, this is cumbersome. Is there any fix for this?

    @thesfmacman What happens when you try and click the 1Password extension (key icon) in Safari? Are you getting any kind of error?
