Can't run 4.0.8 from MAS on Mavericks [Moved to Email]
Updated to 4.0.8 on Mac App Store, tried to run application, get message "application is damaged, please reinstall from Mac App Store". Did complete delete, re-download, re-install, same issue.
Running from terminal, the actual problem is with receipt validation:
$ /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/MacOS/1Password
2013-11-16 20:06:49.713 1Password[13220:507] Failed to validate receipt: /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/_MASReceipt/receipt

Hi @scottishwildcat,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having difficulty with 1Password 4 right now. Thanks for including the Terminal script - it makes it a lot easier for us to figure out what's going on. :)
I'd like you to try reinstalling 1Password again, but this time please re-start your Mac after deleting the app.
Have you noticed this problem with any other apps, or is it just 1Password giving you trouble?

Hi @megan,
Have avoided trying this for a while as I rely on 1P too much, but just tried it now that I'm running OS X 10.9.2 in case that fixed it.
- Completely uninstalled 1Password per instructions here (but also deleting the actual .app bundle)
- Rebooted
- Reinstalled latest 1Password (4.1.2) from MAS
Still doesn't start, same error as before. If I start it from Finder, I get an alert saying:
“1Password.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “1Password.app” and download it again from the App Store.
If I go back to MAS, it tells me I need to "Update" 1Password, and it lets me download and install it again, but same thing just happens again when I open it. Likewise if I try to open it from the admin account rather than my standard user account.
If I start it from Terminal:
$ /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/MacOS/1Password
2014-03-04 17:10:23.864 1Password[1120:507] Failed to validate receipt: /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/_MASReceipt/receiptThe corresponding Console output is no more useful:
04/03/2014 17:10:23.881 1Password[1120]: Failed to validate receipt: /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/_MASReceipt/receipt
Here's the output of sudo dtruss /Applications/1Password.app/Contents/MacOS/1Password. The "Failed to validate" message is printed at line 330.
The only other report I can find of anyone having this problem is in this comment, but that seems to be in relation to a volume purchase.
It's just 1Password, I've had no issues with any other applications.

Hi @scottishwildcat,
I'm sorry that this is still giving you trouble! I've got a few more "cross-your-fingers-and-hope" things to try before we dig a little bit deeper.
- Does right-clicking on 1Password in Finder allow you to open it properly?
- Let's try deleting and reinstalling 1Password again, but this time, before your re-start your computer, please log out of your App Store account.
If neither of these work, could you please send us a Diagnostics Report?
http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/diagnostic-report.html
Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@ agilebits .com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Thanks; tried those, no joy. Diagnostic report sent.

Darn, I wish that would have gotten things sorted out for you! In any case, we'll follow up directly via email to ensure things don't get too muddled up between here and there. :)

Should I at least have got an auto-response to that diagnostic report email? Just feels like it's disappeared into the ether so far...

Hi @scottishwildcat,
You wouldn't have received an auto-response to that email and I apologize for not acknowledging here that you'd sent it.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to locate it now. Looks like it wasn't sent from the address you're registered with on this forum and/or to the address mentioned in @Megan's reply.
Could you please generate and email a new report, then post a short comment here again to let us know it's been sent? I'll make sure it doesn't slip through any cracks this time.
I'm really sorry about the mixup and delay!

Thanks @sjk. I can't send it from the address I'm registered with here as Gmail thinks the zip file that your diagnostic report tool generated is a security risk! I've just re-sent it from my iol.com address, which I also used last time.

Thanks so much for re-sending that Report. Just so I can track it down for you, could you send me a private message with the email address you used? This will allow us to get started on your case more quickly. :)
