Hello -

I've been using 1Password for some time pretty successfully with Google Chrome, as of 2 days ago 1Password stopped filing in the username and passwords for me. It will still arrive at the login page, but then nothing happens. I looked through the discussion board and can't find any solutions posted. I have already:

1 - Updated 1Password to 4.0.9
2 - Updated Google Chrome to the latest version
3 - Removed the 1Password Google Chrome Extension
4 - Restarted the computer

Any ideas out there on what I should do?

Thanks!

David

    Hi @spragger,

I'm sorry to hear that the extension is misbehaving for you right now ... and that none of the tips on the forums seem to be helping you!

There is a known bug in 1Password 4 where the Go and Fill feature will fail in Chrome if a browser window is not already open. Could you describe your workflow just a bit more for me: what steps are you taking when 1Password fails?

1Password is also not recognizing when i visit a new login screen. I get no prompt to add the new URL to the login bank, I have to do it manually from the application. I'm sure these symptoms are related?

    This may be helpful.
First go to google preferences, advanced, passwords and forms, manage saved passwords, then delete your password for Google accounts. Then open chrome and search for google accounts, click on sign in google accounts and click the 1password key in the menu bar, then click the gear and do a manual save of google accounts. Then input password and click gear and manual save as google accounts PW. Pretty much the same as two step login in financial sites. So in summary from the desktop click on the 1password key, click on the google accounts login, click on Google PW or what ever name you have chosen and you will login into your google accounts

That doesn't work. Any other ideas? Megan, did the screen cast I uploaded help at all?

    Hi @spragger,

I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're all working hard and putting in extra hours to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.

Could you let me know if you are using multiple profiles in Google Chrome? 1Password doesn't currently handle multiple profiles well, but we are looking for a way to improve this behaviour in the future.

No worries. We do have two profiles that we use. How do I work around the bug to see if thats the problem. I went ahead and logged out of Google and tried to use 1Password again, still the same results. Ill keep messing around.

    Hi @spragger,

Please take a peek at this earlier post by Mike in the beta forums that discusses the issue in a bit more detail. If you have 1Password unlocked before opening two profiles, does 1Password behave better?

If that doesn't help, you may have to use only one profile at a time while our developers work to sort this out - I do apologize for the inconvenience here, I know it's not ideal.

I am thinking there is a different problem going on here. I've deleted all but my original account with Google and I am still having no luck with the auto-fill. Whether the mini is locked or unlocked. I also re-installed 1Password, still no luck. Is it possible to speak with someone on the phone to make sure I am trouble-shooting everything right? Its really a bummer to be left without the auto-fill feature.

    Hi @spragger,

I'm so sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with the auto-fill. If you have already checked out the suggestions in our article: 1Password fails to fill data, I'd like to take a closer look at your system. Could you please send us a Diagnostics Report?

Download the 1Password Troubleshooting utility and follow the instructions to generate the report.

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@ agilebits .com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
