Dropbox Syncing and the "Original Vault"...
I was reviewing the instructions for syncing through Dropbox and am confused by the following statement that is contained in the instructions which reads 1Password will let you know that it’s going to create a copy of your vault in Dropbox. Click to continue..
I understand that 1Password will create a copy on my vault and place t in Dropbox. I do not understand how "setting changes" are processed. For example, when I add a new software license is:
The change made to the vault located on my hard drive (i.e. User/Library/Application Support/1Password) and then copied to the vault located in my Dropbox folder: OR
The change is made directly to the vault located in my Dropbox folder.
And, if the answer is 2. above, then why is the vault located on my hard drive not deleted as it will rapidly become dated.
TIA,
Joel

Apologies for the bump but I am about to move the keychain to Dropbox but I would first like to get an answer to the above.

The keychain in the Dropbox folder is a sync conduit at the moment. So yes the data is local and it is also placed in the keychain. The data is maintained between the 2 for a while longer until the new cloud keychain is rolled out. As I understand it that new format will only be available after all apps are running 1Password 4, ex Windows, Mac, iOS, Android etc. When all are running 1Password 4 I would guess it will only be data in one place. ex Dropbox. I can't comment directly on that as I don't know details about it. I am just a end user like yourself, and not privy to the real inner workings of 1Password.

Appreciate the response...I want to make sure that I understand what you are saying so please confirm my understanding that all changes are stored in the local keychain / vault as well as the dropbox keychain / vault.
Thanks in advance,
Joel

Yes, all changes are local to you as well as thru the Dropbox keychain for the additional user.
