Switched to iCloud syncing after some trouble with Dropbox
I upgraded to 1P 4 and 1P Mini. Great! However, I cannot sign in when trying to 'see' my passwords. It is requesting a password >>Exception: The encryption keys file does not exist at 'file://localhost/Users/critch/Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default/1password.keys' 1P will not accept my license number as a password nor ail it accept what i believe to be the correct password. And that's just the beginning of my troubles. On my iPhone, 1P works fine and will accept the password. Should I go to my backup files (I am using a Mac) and try to recover the password and if so, how. Confused? Yes, and so am I. Perhaps a direct contact via phone would be best.

The extension says it version 4 but it installs as a version of 1 Password 3 - I a sick of trying to get this to work. Can someone fix this before it pisses off all mac customers.

Try having it on both iPhones, a Mac Laptop a shared desktop, and a new iPad. >:P

I am not in any way an expert to comment on an encryption key issue. I did ping @megan from the other thread you posted to.
Honestly from my experiencing the issue one time before sounds as if its a Dropbox sync issue. Are you certain that Dropbox has finished syncing the keychain ? This would explain why the iPhone app may be able to read the key file as the changes are made over the API from Dropbox. This unfinished sync could also explain why the desktop app is unable to be unlocked etc. as it uses local files synced to your Mac vs the API.
First thing I would do is make sure Dropbox is running on my Mac and make sure the sync has finished. Since I am just a user like yourself I will let the staff get more detailed info, and also what's next to try.

Hi, @Boggabri_Bill.
I'm sorry you're having this trouble with 1Password 4 on your Mac. Let's start with what @thightower asked. :)
Has Dropbox finished all its syncing? Please refer to this article to determine that:
How do I know when Dropbox is syncing?
After you're sure syncing has finished are you still having this issue:
It is requesting a password >>Exception: The encryption keys file does not exist at 'file://localhost/Users/critch/Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default/1password.keys'
Does that happen right after you run the main 1P4 application and enter your Master Password? Or can you describe exactly when and where it appears? And have you previously unlocked and used 1P4 without any problems?
If you're still stuck and want to work with us directly through email to fix this please send a Diagnostics Report from your Mac that's having the problem; instructions are here:
Sending us your Diagnostics Report to help us help you!
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forum, but do include a link to this topic in the email so we can "connect the dots" when we receive it. A quick comment here mentioning that you've sent it would also be helpful. Thank you!
