Is it possible to gift an upgrade from 1Password 3 to 1Password 4?

I purchased a gift license a while back for 1Password 3. It was for my father. Now I would like to purchase an upgrade for him. I put in his license number to get the upgrade, but when it gets to asking for his credit card information, I don't see any option to identify it as a gift upgrade. Can I just use my credit card if the license is in his name?
