"This is not a 1Password for Mac license" when entering a new license [resolved]

I just purchased a Mac license after my 1Password trial expired. The installation instructions don't make sense. There is no Add License button in the app. Instead I get a "Please Register..." dialog with an Enter License button. That opens a window asking for the name and key. If I enter my name and the key (I assume this is the path after https://agilebits.com/licenses/download/, same as the license filename?) I get this message: "This is not a 1Password for Mac license. Please verify you copied the key from your 1Password for Mac purchase and not another product."

  • Hey @MFerkingstad,

    I sounds like you're using 1Password 3, while your license is for 1Password 4.

Unless there's a reason that you need to use 1Password 3, you can download the latest version of 1Password (v4.1.1) from here: https://agilebits.com/downloads

    Hope that helps! :D

Thanks! That was it. I assumed that I was running the latest because Check for Updates on 3.8.x told me I was running the latest version.
