When I create or update a login with the Safari 1P extension, that info doesn't show up when I open the 1P app. Isn't it the same database??

OS X 10.9.1
1P 4.1

    Hi, @denno.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with updates through the 1P4 extension not appearing in the main 1P4 app. It sounds like the same issue that's been reported and confirmed here:

Update Login bugs [confirmed, will be fixed]

Can you let me know you're having that problem or if it's something else? Thanks!

Looks very similar but not identical.

    Thanks for the reply, @denno.

Are there steps you can post for reproducing your specific problem to help us better understand what isn't working the way you expect it to? Thanks!

1 Change password on Web site using Password Generator in 1P Safari extension
2 Dialog appears asking to update existing login
    3 Open 1P app
4 Login still shows old information. New password doesn't appear anyplace.

Hi again, @denno. Thanks for the example steps.

That is essentially the same issue as in the topic I linked to earlier, and also here:

1P 4.1.1 not updating login after selecting update in dialog [confirmed, will be fixed]

    You mentioned:

1 Change password on Web site using Password Generator in 1P Safari extension

    >

    New password doesn't appear anyplace.

Take a look in the Passwords category for an item with that new password, as explained in that other topic reply:

If you've used Copy or Fill in Password Generator after generating a new password then any of those passwords that didn't properly update password fields of corresponding Login items should still be stored in Password items in the Passwords category.

If you'd like more help with this please let me know.

Thanks. I looked in the Passwords category and didn't see the one I just changed. There are some there from yesterday when I originally noticed the problem. They are just labeled as Safari with a Web site of com.apple.safari so it doesn't really help. Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

    Hi, @denno.

Have you confirmed that the password for the Login item without any corresponding Password item wasn't updated after your recent change? If you sort the Passwords category by Date Modified there's still no sign of the item there?

Whenever Copy or Fill is used in Password Generator a Password item will be created. And if a Login item has been successful updated with those Password item details then the Password item will be automatically removed. Otherwise the Password item will be retained as a "safety net". I'm not aware of reports of this failing to happen.

I do apologize for the hassle this bug is causing you. It has been fixed in the current beta (4.1.2.BETA-5) and will be in the 4.1.2 update.

That is correct--no Password item was created

    Hi, @denno.

I did check with our team and there were no reports of Copy or Fill usage in Password Generator failing to create a Password item or auto-deleting it without properly updating a corresponding Login item. And no explanation of how that could have happened in your case.

I'm sorry about this missing/lost item. If you'd like to email a Diagnostics Report (including a link to this topic) we can take a look at logs and see if there's any clue there to what happened.

I just thought of something--I've been talking to Support about a problem with 1P mini showing a message about installing the Safari extension even though the extension is installed. I just realized that these 2 issues are most likely related.

    Quite possibly related, @denno.

You currently have 1P4 databases for the MAS and AgileBits Store versions, with 1P mini/helper running for both (one from Trash) but only the 4.1 MAS app installed. And MAS is configured to sync with Dropbox while the other is config'd for iCloud sync.

I've combined your recent email with the earlier correspondence so it's easier to help get this sorted out for you.

I originally had the AgileBits Store version syncing via Dropbox but switched to the MAS version so I could use iCloud instead. I'll empty the trash and reboot.

    Hi, @denno.

If it's okay with you, let's switch this over to email now so we can focus on resolving any issues there instead of getting things mixed up in both places. Thanks!
