Password Generator: length frequently off by one

I don't see this reported anywhere else, but for me, the length of any generated password in the current version of 1Password mini is typically – but not always – one character longer than I ask for.

Here are three consecutive runs of the generator, requesting a five-character password:



This appears to be a recent change in behaviour, as my dozens of existing passwords are all the correct lengths that I requested at the times that they were generated.

    I've seen this for a while … at least the last few builds have featured this bug.

    It seems to be related to the "Pronounceable" flag. According to the following thread, disabling that flag will produce passwords of the correct length.

    Thanks! I did use the search facility here before I posted, but apparently I didn't conjure up the right spell to find that existing topic.

    I'm seeing the same bug, 12 gives me a password length of 13 characters.

    Hi Mike,

    I'm sorry that you're running into this bug! We've discovered that it is the 'pronounceable' setting that seems to be the problem, so if you need a specific length password, you might want to uncheck this option for now.

    The good news is though, that our developers have managed to squash this bug and you should see an update soon that gets things behaving properly!
