1Password 3 sync question

I have upgraded my Mac and iPhone to 1Password 4, but cannot upgrade the version on my original iPad beyond 3.7.2.

I still have a copy of 1Password 3.8.21 on my Mac, and previously I used it to sync to the iPad using Wi-Fi Sync. However, when I tried to do it today, a Secure Notes entry I recently added to my 1Password 4 on the Mac, and visible in 1Password 3 on the Mac, did not sync to the iPad.

On the iPad, the Sync log history shows:
Accepted new connection

handshake

Authenticating 'Brian's MacBook Air' [MacBookAir4,1]
< handshake
Closing connection

However, when I check, the data on the iPad has not been updated.

How do i fix this, and sync to the older version of 1Password on the iPad?

Something happened to my post. The log says:

    Accepted new connection
    (greater than sign) handshake
    Authenticating 'Brian's MacBook Air' [MacBookAir4,1]
    (less than sign) handshake
    Closing connection

I think I have solved my own problem. I stopped 1Password mini (in the menu bar) and quit Safari, then did the sync from 1Password 3 on the Mac to the iPad. The sync worked this time, showing the synced transactions in the history log file, updating the last sync date ion the Mac, and adding the new Secure Note to the iPad data file.
