Feature Request: Spotlight integration
It would be great if some fields of 1Password records could be indexed by Spotlight. I keep a lot of ordinary records (Notes) in 1Password because they're so easy to access when 1Password is open, and they're synced across all my devices. But I don't keep everything in 1Password and sometimes I go crazy trying to remember where I put that piece of information that I need so bad.
Bonus feature: clicking a 1Password item displayed by Spotlight opens 1Password and (after entering my master password) takes me to that item.
Awesome product. Rock on!

I wonder what the security implications would be of doing what you request.

What if only the title field were indexed? That would be enough because if I knew they were going to be indexed, I'd take care to make sure they were meaningful titles.

Hi @Tim1961,
Thanks so much for the feedback here! I'm happy to pass it along to the developers, but I imagine this might not be an easy thing to implement, if it's possible at all. In 1Password 4, all of your data is encrypted ... even the titles. Each item is only fully decrypted as it is needed. That means that it is only accessible after you have entered your Master Password into 1Password. :)

I agree with Tim. Having something in 1Password searchable by Spotlight would be very useful. If not a title, maybe some kind of special non-encrypted tag that we could use.

Hi guys,
@Tim1961 asked:
What if only the title field were indexed?
Alfred, LaunchBar, and Quicksilver do limited indexing of Login items, using the JSON proxy file that 1P4 writes when Enable integration with 3rd party apps is enabled under Preferences… > Advanced:
The LaunchBar Index for 1Password Bookmarks looks like this:
Spotlight indexes that 3rd Party Integration file (bookmarks-default.json) but not its content. The Quick Look JSON plugin can be used to preview it:
Not a lot there.
A 1Password Spotlight plugin could probably index multiple proxy files containing at least that much.
