Transferring from one licence to another

Hi there, I'm trying to work out how to set up a new licence (I've left my place of work that provided a 1Password licence) and transfer data from one licence to another, without losing anything. Is this possible or do I have to do it manually. Many thanks.

I'll help get this sorted out for you. First, a few questions:

Do you still have access to 1Password data that you need? Do you still have a license for 1Password 4 from where you were working? Do you currently have 1Password 4 software installed somewhere that you intend to use it?

I suggest making sure you can get your 1Password data, then set up the software to use. You might be necessary to purchase 1Password 4 from the Mac App Store, or download the software and purchase a new license for it.

As long as you've got the Master Password to unlock your data you'll be fine.

Which version of 1Password 4 do you have on your old work system? And how would you be able to transfer your data from there to where you'll be using 1P4 after that? Sorry for so many questions; I want to make this go as smoothly as possible for you. :)

hi there, sorry for the very delayed response! i'm using 1Password 4 Version 4.2.BETA-1 (420001). i may be keeping my work laptop, and have just discovered that my licence was on trial whilst looking for the version! this means i would just need to purchase a new licence, when prompted, and then i would keep all data previously recorded, right? if i don't keep my work laptop, i would just need to purchase new licence for new laptop, and transfer manually before handing work one back. thanks for your help, it's much appreciated. :)

No worries for the delay, @jojoshaw. I'm still here. :)

You'll only need to purchase a single 1Password 4 for Mac license that you can use with either laptop, then just add the license and not reinstall the software. With your work laptop all your 1Password data will still be there. With your "new" laptop you'd transfer your data to it from the work laptop; please let me know if you'd like any help with that if that's what you end up using/doing.
