1password is damaged

Just a few moments ago, I received an error message when I attempted to open 1password: 1password is damaged; delete and reinstall from app store.

I am still able to use the password from the menu bar at the top of the screen and the program continues to save new passwords for web sites.

I dragged the program to the trash and downloaded the app from the mac app store. When I start the program, I continue to receive the same error message.

I could use an mac app to completely remove the program, but I fear that I will lose all passwords.

    Hi, @mikesob.

I'm sorry you've somehow got a damaged 1Password 4 app installed. Please give this a try:

    • Empty Trash.
    • Restart your system and see if 1Password runs okay after that. If not:
    • Remove 1Password.app using Launchpad, which will not touch any 1Password data.
    • Restart your system again.
    • Log in to App Store and download 1Password 4.
    • Run the 1P4 app again and see if it works.

I hope that works for you; please let me know.
