1Password Mini DB error after upgrading to Mavericks and Safari 7
After upgrading my Mac to Mavericks OS and Safari 7, my 1Password Mini does not work in the browser. It pops up and asks for my master password. When I enter it, it says: Problem with Database. Extension Database not Available. Please hit command-option-Q to restart your browser and discard invalid..."
I did hit command-option-Q and it did nothing. I removed the extensions from Safari and reinstalled them and it made no difference.
Thank you for any help you can provide. I rely on this program throughout my day so this is very inconvenient having to keep my 1Password app open while I work and bounce back and forth.

Hey @bluen2,
It sounds like you have the old 1Password 3 extension installed in Safari. For 1Password 4, you'll need to use the version 4 extension.
You can get the new extension here:
Download 1Password 4 Browser Extensions
Hope that helps! :)

Hi JasperP, you were right about the extensions. I removed the previous extensions and installed the new ones. I double clicked the icon from the downloads folder and agreed for it to install. But then, I get the following message: "There is no application set to open the URL onepassword4-extension://activate/Safari" and it opens up a new tab in my browser saying "Failed to open page."

Yes, Jasper, following exactly.

BTW, and since I had to associate an application and I picked 1Password, when I click on the key in my browser, it opens up a new tab and Safari says it failed to open page.

After I press the install button, the 1Password mini icon appears in Safari and immediately, I get an Apple window saying "There is no application set to open the URL onepassword4-extension://activate/Safari. When I select Cancel, it still doesn't work and if I choose 1Password as the application, the behavior is the same. I can see the Key Icon next to the url but if I click it, it just opens up a new tab and repeats the above error message.

Hi @bluen2,
I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble with the Safari extension. I'm wondering - do you have 1Password 4 in the /Applications folder? If it is installed somewhere else, the extension might be having trouble finding it.
I'd also like you to take a read through this post "Problem with database" in v3 extension in Safari on OS X Mavericks and reinstall the Safari extension using those steps.
If the extension is still giving you trouble after this, please let me know and we'll do some further investigation. :)

Megan,
I had previously installed 1Password 4 but I neglected to remove v3. You were correct and the problem is now solved. Everything is working fine. Thank you!!!0
