entry boxes not recognised

I have just registered on a site I will use frequently but 1Password will not correctly fill in the blanks. I've used 1P for many years and this is the first problem.
1. the normal username box is "Your reference number:" and it is a number
2. "Your password:" for password

Seems good but I can set for the password only and fill ref no. by hand OR the Ref No. is entered in the password.
How do I deal with username when a number.
