Duplicate Website Entries

I am very frustrated that all my logins have duplicate Website fields (see attached screenshot for an example).

I downloaded the latest version of 1Password (4.2.1) for Mac hoping this duplicate issue would be resolved. It is not. In fact, it got worse because I cannot delete the duplicate website fields. If I delete one it deletes all the website entries. If I add back the website field it immediate creates 5 duplicates. that's right, there is no syncing creating this duplication. The software creates the duplicates after I manually enter in the website.

I had deleted and reinstalled 1Password 4.2.1 several times so reinstalling is not going to be the go to solution here.

What can I do to remove these very annoying duplications of over 500 logins?

    Hi @ShaneKeller,

Thanks so much for bringing this issue to our attention! I've done some testing here and I'm seeing the same behaviour as you. There is currently a report filed in our issue tracker about this, and I'll be sure to add a vote for you so that the developers know you're keen to get this fixed as soon as possible.

    Hello @Megan,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my issues with Duplicate Website Entries. It really is frustrating to have anywhere from 5 to 10 duplicate website entries. I have also noticed when I create a brand new Login it creates at least one website duplicate entry.

Hope you have a nice day!

    Shane

    Hi @ShawnKeller,

Believe me, I understand your frustration here! It's certainly an odd little bug. The good news is that since it seems to be happening 'reliably', it should be a lot easier to track down and fix. :)

I also have the duplicate entries, but I now have over 27,000 items after updating to 4.2.2 and merging with a previous backup stored on Dropbox. Unfortunately this took forever to index, but now the program is almost unusable. Is there a way to search and automatically delete duplicate entries?

    Thanks in advance,
    andy

    Hi @andylynch,

I'm really sorry you've ended up with duplicate website fields in your items. At the moment we don't have a solution to search for and automatically delete those duplicates. To clarify, is having over 27,000 items a separate issue?

Is it possible for you to restore from a previous 1Password 4 backup (selected from the File > Restore… window) that doesn't have the duplicate website fields and/or any additional unwanted items in its database?

We'll keep you and @ShaneKeller posted with any additional information about this bug and do apologize for its inconvenience.
