Rich Icons not shown on duplicated items

Duplicated login items show always the icon of the original item also changing website entry.
Instead creating an object from scratch load the correct icon from website.

These two items refer the same site, one has been duplicated, the other created from scratch.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention! I was unable to reproduce this in 4.1.2, so I'd love a bit more information on the situation here:

• What is the version number of 1Password that you are currently using?
• Could you clarify which website entry is changed when duplicating a Login item?
• Is this missing icon a 'rich icon' (pulled from our image servers) or a 'custom icon' (created by you?)
• Does this happen consistently with every entry that you try to duplicate?

The more information you can provide here, the more likely our chances of tracking this down. :)

Yes, I was a bit poor in details, sorry :)

First, the version of 1Password: Version 4.2.2 (422001) for Mac

Now the problem, when I create a new login item, entering the field "website", 1Password load the correct rich icon, not sure where it is taken, but it is correct.

However, if I create a new login item duplicating another item in some cases the correct rich icon is not loaded. If I create the same item from scratch the correct rich icon is loaded.
I can not always reproduce the problem, but as you can see from the images in some cases (and only duplicating items) the rich icon is not loaded, but creating the item from scratch solves the problem.

In the two images below I have two log in items, the first one was created duplicate another one, the second one from scratch.

Thanks for the additional information. So far I haven't been able to reproduce this with 1Password 4.2.2 and you mentioned not being able to consistently reproduce it. Are there any specific items you currently have that it does happen with, maybe your Liferay example? And if you Duplicate that item does it initially display the original item's icon?

Have you tried temporarily disabling the Use rich icons setting, waiting a few seconds, then reenabling it?

If you edit any duplicated item with a missing rich icon, temporarily remove its website field, save the change, edit the item and restore its website field, and save the change does the rich icon appear? Or can you only get it to appear when creating a new item from scratch?

That extra info will help when filing a bug report for this, whether or not it's immediately reproducible. Thanks again!

I'm not able to consistently reproduce the problem, happens only by duplicating some items, the liferay item is one of them,
but I have other items that have the same problem, each of them is a duplicate. For liferay item this is the behavior:

liferay login item created by duplicating another item (default rich icon is the keyhole even after saving)

liferay login item created from scratch (inserting website field immediately load correct rich icon and maintain it after saving)

liferay login item created by duplicating the item on image 1 and website field changed (rich icon remain the default keyhole even after saving)

liferay login item created by duplicating the item on image 2 and website field changed (correct rich icon is loaded after saving)

I also tried to export and re-import the liferay item that has the problem (that of the image 1) and the problem persist, if you think might be useful I can send you the pif file.

I tried to disable Use rich icons setting, rich icons disappear for all items, reenabling setting rich icons reappear exactly as before.

Even if you delete the website field, save the item, edit it again by putting the website field, the rich icon not appear, even after saving.
Creating the item from scratch allow to load correct rich icon.

Does the original item have the correct icon? And is that what you see immediately after duplicating the item but before saving that duplicate (like in the first image of my earlier reply)?

I also tried to export and re-import the liferay item that has the problem (that of the image 1) and the problem persist, if you think might be useful I can send you the pif file.

If you'd like to send me a Private Message with a link to a redacted 1PIF export of that item that would be great. Or, if easier, just include its text directly in the message (wrapped in backquotes), e.g.:

No, the original item had the default icon, duplicating an item that has a proper icon behaves as you described (like in your first image) and after saving new icon appears correct. Only duplication icon with keyhole cause the strange behavior.

Hi @backtime,

Thanks for the private message with the sample items. I've replied, with a suggestion to manually delete the icon from each of them so the correct one will be downloaded from the icon server. Hopefully that helps resolve this issue. :)
