Log in Page Bank will not fill in
Hello all
I am using Maverick and 1 Password DL from the website a few days ago.
The log in details were correctly saved in 1P 4. but on the login page of the bank there is no key and details will not fill in when selected from mini vault on first Bank screen. See attachment of Firefox screen shot. Any ideas anyone??
Regards
Niels

I found the problem or work around: In mini vault on the log in details, if you put your cursor on the website URL an option comes up to open and fill in. That works fine. Thank you for reading, maybe there are other solutions?

Hi Niels ( @NK77 ),
It looks like this problem is caused by the Firefox bug described: here.
If you enable the Open new windows in a new tab instead option in Firefox > Preferences… > Tabs, the login page for this site should open in a new tab with the 1Password extension icon in the toolbar instead of opening the popup window without the extension icon.
Maybe you'd like to give that a try? :)

Hello oversoul/admin
Thank you for the reply, the :"new tab instead" option is already enabled! The pop up (see screenshot) comes up instead in all browsers. There simply is no room left for a "key", there are two icons there but they are not wanted. Would be nice to get the mini vault icon placed there instead.

Hi @NK77,
I was able to create a Login that opens and fills correctly using these steps:
- Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
- Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
- Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
- Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
- Select Save new login.
- Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
- Click Save.
- Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.
To revisit the site here are my steps:
- Open 1Password Mini (the default keyboard shortcut is Command-\, or click on the key icon in the menu bar)
- Click on the 'ANZ' item
- 1Password will open the page and fill in your details
I hope this works for you as well, but please do let us know if you have any further questions!

Hello Megan
Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions. It does work but there is one problem: Three tabs are opened up, one with the log in correctly filled in "good" and two more new tabs with empty log in fields "not so good"
I am not so sure by what you meant by 1Password extension? I can only find them in Firefox and they looked ok.
Many thanks for assisting!
NielsPS Other log ins tried work OK , just the pop up log in seems to not work as wanted

Hi Niels ( @NK77 ),
It's good to hear @Megan's steps were helpful. By clicking the 1Password extension, she was simply referring to the key-shaped icon in the Firefox (or other web browser) toolbar for using 1Password there:
The one that was missing before. :)
Three tabs are opened up, one with the log in correctly filled in "good" and two more new tabs with empty log in fields "not so good"
Changes have been made in the beta extension that may help with that issue. If you'd like to give it a try, open the 1Password Extension page in Firefox, then select Enable betas before clicking the big green
Install
button. Since it is still a beta you might notice a few unpolished bits. :)0 -
Hello sjk oversoul Admin
Thank you for your reply. it helped partially. After installing Beta extensions Firefox opens two new Tabs , one correctly filled "Log In" and working and one Log in Tab with no information filled in. So, we are heading in the right direction but not quite there yet !

Hi @NK77,
Here's a specific example of my interaction with Firefox on the ANZ site:
- Open Firefox, which opens a window/tab with the Mozilla Firefox Start Page.
Click 1Password icon in toolbar and search for ANZ item:
… which looks like this:
Selecting the item opens a new tab for https://www.anz.com/INETBANK/bankmain.asp and fills the fields there:
1Password's autosubmit is disabled, and mini's Open URLs in New Tab option is selected:
And Firefox's Open new windows in a new tab instead option is enabled.
Maybe you have some Firefox extension or add-on that's causing it to behave differently there?

Hello sjk
Thank you again for trying to help. My set up is identical to the one you show (right from the start) The additional Tabs are not there until you have successfully logged in and logged out. Successful "fill in" will not produce the additional "Log in Tab"
The fact that "b14" extensions reduce Tabs from Three to Two perhaps indicate problems there?0 -
Hi Niels @NK77,
Does that extra tab behavior happen with every site you're using 1Password with in Firefox? I'm still unable to reproduce it here, e.g. with a successful login after filling/submitting on the https://www.evernote.com/Login.action page.

Hello sjk
So far only with this Bank "pop up tab log in" site. I think it has since been flagged as a known issue for multiple Tabs opening and this does not seem to be a new issue? See later and earlier posts by others..

Hello sjk and admin
This post should perhaps be closed now as the original problem has been solved or overcome.
The problem is now "multiple Tabs" passed on to the "Developers" ?0 -
Hi Niels @NK77,
Sure, I can close this topic about the original issue but would first like to make sure I'm passing along accurate information to the developers about the remaining multi-tab issue. :)
Can you describe a bit more about what happens when you start with one window/tab open in Firefox, then select your ANZ item with 1Password? Here, the https://www.anz.com/INETBANK/bankmain.asp page opens in a new tab (not a popup window), then fields fill. And it stays on that page in that tab after submitting, automatically or manually, because I don't have an account there to log in and possibly reach this point:
The additional Tabs are not there until you have successfully logged in and logged out.
It's mostly what you're seeing then that I'm still unclear about, e.g. what's open in which window(s)/tab(s). Thanks for helping clarify that!

Hello @sjk
Page One: Firefox with prior to ANZ log on (see attachments)
Page Two: After using mini vault (key) to put cursor on ANZ website open and fill before pressing enter ( I call it pop up or new page)
Page Three: After pressing enter and successful "Log in"
Page Four: After "Log off" page
Page Five: Extra "Tab" that was not there before and with original extensions there would be two extra "Log in" Tabs after "Log off"I am using b14 (only shows one extra Tab. Progress with b14). Hope this makes sense, if anything is not clear please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks for that detailed walkthrough, Niels @NK77.
What it looks like is the tab that's opened in screen 2 is is still there on screen 5, after the new window/tab usage in screens 3 and 4. I think that's how it's intended to work because filling/submitting in the tab on screen 2 opens a new window/tab instead of replacing the tab. If you fill/submit again in that screen 5 tab (left over from screen 2), a new window/tab (like in screens 3 and 4) would probably open again. The tab in screen 2 simply isn't being closed when the new window/tab opens, which seems normal to me. :)

It's been a pleasure helping you with this, Niels @NK77. Thanks for your help expanding my 1Password experience with Firefox a bit. :)
This looks like a good spot to close this topic. If anything else comes up please feel free to start another, or send me a
private message if you want me to reopen this one. Have fun!0
