After unlock, helper doesn't show selections. Esc and re-do, and it works
Hello.
I have a problem which often happens when I haven't used 1Password helper in some time and which always happens when I first log in and Chrome has re-loaded my previous state.
At a loaded web page with a log-in (fully loaded with no active spinner), I type Command-\ to open the helper, and it prompts me to unlock. After unlocking, however, it does not show the eligible selections for the current web page. I have to ESC and re-type Command-\ to get selections.
Alternatively, if 1Password fails to show selections, I can type to filter—but I very much dislike that 1Password did not act correctly.
Thank you for the help.

Hi @seeemef
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the 1Password extension right now. Could you please let me know what version number of 1Password you are currently running? The version number can be found by going to 1Password > About 1Password. I'd also like to know the version number of the extension. (This can be found in chrome://settings > Extensions).

Hi, Megan. I am running 1Password 4.1.2 and extension version 4.1.1.90.

Thanks for the version information, @seeemef.
Changes have been made in the beta extension for 1Password that may help with the issue you've reported. If you'd like to give that a try, open the 1Password Extension page in Chrome, then select Enable betas before clicking the big green
Install
button. With Chrome, make sure it's the only extension enabled on the chrome://extensions page. Since it is still a beta you might notice a few unpolished bits but it's getting closer to an official release. Please let us know if you're having the same problem with the beta extension, or would prefer not to use it, and we'll look at other ways to fix this. Thanks!

Thanks. I installed the beta extension 4.2.0.15 and will see how it behaves w.r.t. my issue.
Please note that I uninstalled the former extension and then re-installed the new beta extension. Afterward, Command-\ would bring up a window but would not select any eligible passwords. I had to restart Chrome to get it working.
I can repeat this uninstall/re-install and see the same behavior. It would be better if it worked without restarting; or failing that I would have rather seen a message advising to restart Chrome.
Thanks.

Hi @seeemef,
Thanks for giving the beta 1Password extension a try. I hope it works more reliably for you.
When the extension is uninstalled/reinstalled (or disabled/reenabled), any open browser tabs need to be reloaded before it will work with them. With the beta, this popup informs you:
It may not immediately or always appear, though seems an improvement over nothing. :)
Actually, this may be temporarily removed but I've made note that it or something similarly informative is important.

OK, it's worse than ever. Mint fills password but not e-mail. Do you test your software?

Hi @seeemef,
I'm sorry that your problem has taken a turn for the worse using the beta extension. Are you using multiple profiles in Chrome? Your original post mentions:
… which always happens when I first log in and Chrome has re-loaded my previous state.
Is Chrome configured in System Preferences > Users & Groups / YourUsername / Login Items to start automatically when you log in? And if you have other Chrome extensions installed, do you still have problems with 1Password when they're temporarily disabled?
For the trouble with Mint, please try saving a new Login manually on the https://www.mint.com/login.event page and see if that one works correctly. Before doing that, edit the original Login item you have for that website (e.g. by appending " - Old" to its title) to clearly differentiate it from the new one.

Mint changed the field name from "userid" to "email" . Edit the web form detail for Mint to reflect this and Mint will work again
