I recently downloaded the beta for my Nexus 7 and my Moto X; both on 4.4.2. When I select to sync via Dropbox I see a sign in and then immediately move to a screen that says there are no subfolders. And i am unable to move backward.

  • Hi @Austin_tacious. Are you using 1Password on a Mac or Windows PC? Do you have an agilekeychain (1Password.agilekeychain) file in Dropbox?

I'm having this exact problem, actually! I'm not using 1Password on any other device, just my Android. I also do not have anything in my Dropbox. Literally nothing at all, it's a new-ish Dropbox account.

That explains why! At the moment, new data files (agilekeychain) can not be initialized by 1Password Beta (Android) in Dropbox. It only works with a pre-existing data file.

If you would like to use Dropbox sync on your Android device you will need to create a data file from a Mac or Windows computer running 1Password first. I would be happy to provide you with all the necessary instructions if you would like. Just let me know if you have access to a Windows PC or a Mac computer.

I sure do—both in fact! If there's a way to do this without purchasing the 1Password software on my desktop, that'd be ideal. If I enjoy this, I'll definitely pony up for the full thing. :)

Sorry to hijack your thread a bit, Austin_tacious, but hopefully your problem is the same one I have.

Thanks for hijacking. Now I know what the issue is. :))

I have access to Windows as well.

  • Of course, purchasing is not necessary, you can accomplish this with the trial version of 1Password. You can download 1Password for your computer here:

@gaza: I would recommend going with 1Password 4 for Mac and following these instructions to create a vault, and set up sync with Dropbox:

    1. Set up as a first-time user: http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/Mac/en/setup.html
    2. Set up sync with Dropbox: http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/Mac/en/Features/Sync/dropbox.html

@Austin_tacious: For Windows, please follow these instructions below to create a vault, and set up sync with Dropbox:

    1. Create a new vault: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password_Windows/getting-started.html
    2. Set up sync with Dropbox: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password_Windows/setting-up-Dropbox-sync.html

You should then be able to set up Dropbox sync on your Android devices. Let me know how it goes!
