After I buy for iPhone/iPad do I buy for Mac, too? Which is the parent?

Hello! I know this is a very basic question but I can't seem to locate the answer. (I know it's out there but I just can't put my finger on it.)

I purchased and downloaded 1Password to my iPhone/iPad. Do I also need to purchase it for use on my Mac? (I'd prefer not to rely on synching to iCloud or Dropbox.) If so, once I do that, will the two of them "talk to each other"? Which one do I populate first/which one is the parent?

    1Password licenses are sold per-platform, which means that you'll need to buy 1Password for each operating system that you want to use it on. Since Apple provides no way to bundle apps on the App Store and Mac App Store, 1Password for Mac is necessarily a separate purchase from 1Password for iOS.

    If you'd like to purchase 1Password 4 for Mac, you can do so on the Mac App Store, or on our website.
