How to stop syncing to Dropbox

To the official 1Password rep on this forum: Please tell us in specific steps how to stop using iPasswordAnywhere with Dropbox, as you suggest in today's blogpost about security.

I cannot find any instructions on your site for how to stop syncing to Dropbox. The only option I see in Preferences > Sync when I click on Dropbox is to choose a new vault. Please answer promptly.

    If you change to one of the other sync options (1P4 > Preferences > Sync > Change Syncing...) you can stop syncing with Dropbox. I'm not sure whether you might have wanted to know more than that (sorry if you did!) but that's the basic step you need to take.

    Thanks. Next question--if my goal is simply to sync between 2 Macs, shall I use the Folders sync in 1Passport? And is there any security vulnerability there?

    Yes, you could do that. There's a useful thread here about that: see particularly post #3 in that thread for some tips on setting it up. There's also a knowledge base article on folder sync here.

    There's no real security vulnerability in using folder sync as you're presumably going to leave everything on your LAN in any event. You might be interested in the following articles about the 1P4 keychain and rolling out the new format. They probably won't give you any cause for concern with what you're proposing to do though.

    If you do have any problems just post back and someone will help. They're a very helpful lot on this forum!
