Extension 4 incompatible with Firefox 16.0.1 on OS Mavericks

I have recently installed 1Password 4 for Mac and uninstalled the version 3 extension from Firefox. I subsequently tried to install the version 4 extension but receive the message "1Password could not be installed because it is incompatible with with Firefox 16.0.1.
