Dropbox Sync giving data not found error even though file exists (and is synced) at root.

I'm getting a:

'Data not found error'
code=714

Even though Dropbox on iOS has correctly named file: '1Password.agilekeychain' at root fully synced.

Checked 1password anywhere - also checks out totally fine when viewed via dropbox.com.

    Hi @tarajane‌

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with 1Password right now.

What version of 1Password do you currently have installed on your iOS device?

I have the same issue. It looks like 1Password on iOS is looking for the data in db/home/1Password/1Password.agilekeychaindata/ whereas the data is actually stored at db/home/1Password.agilekeychaindata.

This was set (as far as I remember) by the Mac during first use.

Do we need to copy the whole thing down into a 1Password folder? If so, will the Mac version still recognise it?

    Hi @andycairns‌

Unfortunately, the iOS app isn't yet quite as smart as the Mac app. It tends to want to look for your data here: Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain. Let's reset sync to the default location and see if that helps.

    • On your iOS devices, open 1Password 4 for iOS, tap Settings > Sync, and toggle Dropbox to OFF.

    • On the Mac, open 1Password 4 for Mac, and click the 1Password menu, then Preferences. Click Sync, and click Change syncing.

    • Check the box to remove the data from Dropbox and confirm that you want to disable sync.

    • Restart the Mac and iOS devices.

    • Check your Dropbox folder and delete any other 1Password folders or files that the remove data checkbox did not take care of.

    • On the Mac, go back to the Sync preferences, and click Dropbox. Click Choose vault, then navigate to your Dropbox folder and select Open. This will regenerate a 1Password folder in Dropbox, and that will contain a new 1Password.agilekeychain file.

    • Allow Dropbox to fully sync.

    • Go back into the iOS app and re-enable Dropbox sync. That should get everything on the same page for sure.

I followed your instructions precisely, but to no avail. When I got to your 6th bullet/step, it didn't create a 1Password folder, it simply created the 1Password.agilekeychain file in my root Personal dropbox folder. I went ahead and tried setting up my iOS app (which btw since I JUST bought it and this is a first time setup I don't have an option to go to settings as you mentioned in step 1), but I still get that same error when it tries to find the .agilekeychain file ("Data no found etc."). This is all very confusing.

Ok, I figured out a way to get it working. I basically manually created a "1Password" directory in my root of my personal dropbox directory, and then moved my .agilekeychain file into that, then updated my sync settings in my Mac 1Password app, then began setting up my new iOS app I just installed and it worked.

    Hi @jponch,

Sorry for the trouble, but I'm glad to hear you got it working! :)

That's exactly right — if 1Password didn't create the 1Password folder for some reason, manually creating a 1Password folder within Dropbox and selecting it in the sync preferences in 1Password for Mac will work.
