Auto-Submit does not work randomly on Mac and Windows
Hi,
I don´t know when it started but I recognize more and more that the auto-submit does not work, wheter on mac nor on windows.
Best example is this forum here "discussions.agilebits.com" ... I have only one login for the forum and the browser extension shows me the dialog for choosing the login instead of auto-submitting.
How can this be solved?
On windows I´am using the 1PW 4 Beta and on mac 1PW from App-Store.

Hi @pauLee
I'm so sorry to hear you've been having trouble with autosubmit. For the Mac App Store version, please install this Autosubmit Script. I'd also like you to try manually re-saving the Login to see if that gets things behaving better:
- Edit the login that you currently have for this website by appending an "Old" to the title - just so you can tell them apart.
- Visit the site and fill in the fields you want filled. Do NOT click the login button.
- Click the 1Password extension, and unlock it if necessary.
- Click the gear icon (or vault icon if multiple vaults are enabled) in the upper right corner.
- Select Save new login.
- Give the entry a unique and identifiable title.
- Click Save.
- Revisit the site and see if 1Password fills in the site correctly.
I hope this gets you all sorted out, but we're here if you have any further questions!

Megan, hope you are monitoring this issue. I have the same auto-submit issue with one website I visit a lot... Schwab.com. Auto-submit works in Safari for this site, but does NOT work on Firefox (v28) for this site. Auto-submit works fine in Firefox for almost all other sites where I have accounts (nearly 500), but not for this one. It worked in the past, but not for while... like last 6 months (I'm guessing at the time).
I installed the Autosubmit Script you mentioned. I had not heard of that before, but doing so did not cause auto submit to work of this site in Firefox. And, I tried creating a new login within 1P for this site as you suggested. That did not make it work either.
I'm using OS 10.9.2 and 1P v4.2.2. Any further suggestions?

Hi Mac ( @AMCarter3 )
I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble with 1Password's submitting. Unfortunately, since you are on the webstore version (4.2.2), this script will not be of much use to you. It is something that is required for the Mac App Store version, but will have no effect on the webstore version.
Thanks for including the site that is being difficult for you. I was able to create a Login for Schwab.com that fills and submits correctly using the steps I mention above. Have you tried saving a new Login for this site?

Hi Megan, thanks for replying. Yes, I did create a new login for that site -- had no effect. I also deleted cookies for that site - no effect either. I also called and talked with Tech Support at Schwab -- they were baffled about it and had no suggestion on what to do. Could it have something to do with the fact that I'm using the webstore version?

Hi Megan,
thank you for your script. I solved my problem.
But please be so kind to explain what that scipt does. I don´t like running scipts but not knowing what they do. What changes are made with this. I´am using the AppStore of 1PW so I think you can not modify the sandboxed 1PW app itself, or?

Hi guys.
I'm wondering if changes in the beta version of the extension might help with your autosubmit issue. If you'd like to give that a try, open the 1Password Extension page in Firefox, then select Enable betas before clicking the big green
Install
button. Restart Firefox after installation, too. It's pretty easy to remove the beta if it's troublesome and reinstall the non-beta. :)Here's the one-liner script that's installed:
% cat ~/Library/Application\ Scripts/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/1Password_Autosubmit.scpt tell application "System Events" to keystroke return %
It's separate from, and not modifications are made to, the 1Password application.0
