Schedule or Force Syncing

We have a shared vault syncing via local folder (on a network drive) at my workplace. It appears that each person's local 1P4 vault only syncs when they makes a change. Therefore, if someone never makes any changes on their local vault, they will never see the updates synced from other vaults.

Is this the case? If so, is there a way to force or schedule automatic syncing so that 1P4 will periodically check for updates even if the local vault hasn't been edited recently? Or is there a better way of doing this altogether?
