On line tutorial

I'm a new user trying to install 1Password 4 on to my Mac running OS X. The on-line tutorial does not match what I am seeing on screen which makes it impossible to follow directions. Even as basic a thing as the name of the program in the menu bar comes up as 1 Password instead of 1Password 4 as shown in the tutorial. Is there another tutorial/user's guide/manual available? Thanks.

The reason you're seeing 1Password in the menu bar, and not 1Password 4, is simply because you're using the Mac App Store version and not the AgileBits store version (see here). It's nothing at all to worry about.

If you have other problems just post back here. The experience guide in the knowledge base also has some useful information which will help you get started.

I've been following these forums for about nine months now. There are a few participants who you can rely on to give you that same information that AgileBits people would. @Stephen_C‌ is one of them.

Sorry, even though what I wrote is true, it was intended for another thread. Not sure how it got to be here. And I currently can't find the thread in which I originally posted this.

@hawkmoth‌ No matter how it got here your words are true about @Stephen_C‌! It was very nice of you to say that about him.

Despite what the forum software may imply, I'm not currently with AgileBits so this is a personal statement. It takes all of us as a community to support and provide guidance and feedback to one another… and by extension back to AgileBits about their software. Three cheers for the richness of our community!

@hawkmoth‌ & @MartyS‌, aside from being rather embarrassed by the comments (which I've just seen) you are both really kind, especially given the expertise of your own contributions. Thanks so much!

When I wrote what I did, I was in a thread where @Stephen_C had thoroughly answered a writer's question, but the writer followed up by asking whether someone from AgileBits was ever going to reply. So what I wrote made sense in that context. Sometimes a user doesn't need to wait for an official answer when a perfectly reliable one has already been offered.

How in the world could my comment get shifted to a different thread than the one where I was writing it?

Neutrino strike? Blood moon? Perhaps you were visiting another dimension when you left your comment. My saying for these kinds of things is "All things are possible, not all things are probable."

I'm going with blood moon. I managed to get a really crummy picture of it a couple of nights ago. Punishment for not setting up a tripod in advance.
