Can't login to American Express

If I copy password manually all is good. However, if the user id and pw are auto filled, it appears that the pw is filled in twice. I.e. If the pw was "secret" it appears that "secretsecret" is being filled in. I'm deducing this because twice the number of characters are appearing in the pw field

Sometimes re-creating and saving the login manually solves problems like this. Let us know if it helps in your case.
