Text Expansion in username field

Native OS X text expansion works in the notes field but not in the username or any other field. I've setup shortcuts for typing in my email ('gml' expands to my gmail address) and it would be great (and faster) if I could type in that text shortcut in the username field as well.

Curiously, text expansion on username field on the iOS version works just this way, and is fantastic. Hoping you can bring this to the Mac in an update :)
