"1Password 4" is damaged and can't be opened

I'm trying to install 1Password 4 on a new Mac that I have, but I continue to see the same dialog whenever I try to install 1Password.

I have tried downloading multiple times using Chrome and Safari and I've tried unzipping on another computer and copying the 1Password.app over. A quick Google search tells me that Mavericks is rejecting the key used to sign the application and that I can disable Gatekeeper - but I'd rather not disable Gatekeeper when installing the app that manages my passwords. Any ideas on what to try next?

Mavericks 10.9.2 with 2014-002 Security Update installed.

Ditto - same problem. Working fine up through 6:30 and now totally bricked out. Anyone have any solutions?

  • Hi @mindless and @Toyon,

I am sorry to hear about the trouble with 1Password! Lets figure out whats going on.

First off, are you downloading 1Password 4 from https://agilebits.com/downloads?

If so, are you still experiencing this problem with the most recent version of 1Password?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Yes - I just downloaded 1 Password 4.4 directly from the Agilebits website. I am having a similar problem with other applications I'm downloading.

    Hi @mindless,

I'm sorry you're still having trouble downloading 1Password. Please check in System Preferences > Security and Privacy and ensure that your settings allow 'Mac App Store and identified developers'. You don't have to turn off Gatekeeper, but you will need to allow identified developers to use the version of 1Password from our website.

If your settings are correct here, please try launching 1Password again, and if you get an error message, please send us a Diagnostics Report:

    http://learn2.agilebits.com/1Password4/diagnostic-report.html

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@ agilebits .com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

A short note here once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
