Hi. I bought 1Password for iOS not so long ago and was unpleasantly surprised to find out that it lacks an ability to add file attachments to items. Will this feature be implemented in the future updates of 1Password?

    Hi @Tau,

Thanks for letting me know that you're interested in a feature like this. I can't comment much on unreleased features, but you're certainly not the only one who would like to see this, and I'm happy to add your vote to this request in our issue tracker. :)

Dear Megan, I'm also interested in these feature. I need to attach a pdf with a grid security card issued by my bank to my login item. Right now I'm using the free trial mac version to upload these attachments, because It seems I can open these attachments in the ios version. But when the trial period expires, I will not be able to attach files anymore.

  • Hi @Rprado,

Thanks for the feedback! I'll add your vote for this feature. :)

I would also ask to consider the feature of adding a photo feature to credit card storage with the ability to "import" the card information automatically without all of the monotony of typing digits. Evernote and LinkedIn have done it: why not you?

    Hi @DrPsych‌

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll be sure to pass it along to our developers! :)

Have been using 1Password intensively now for a month or so and just love the way it works. Being able to see documents/images (eg a copy of my passport) attached to Secure Notes would be a great feature.

I would also love a feature in iOS app where I can take a picture of a credit card or driver's license and the character recognition is done and the picture of the credit with its info is automatically stored.

  • Hi @spacemn_spiff‌,

That'll be awesome to have in 1Password, it is similar to what Apple is doing in Mobile Safari where you can scan your credit cards to fill it in.

At the moment, there is no API on iOS that lets us do OCR, which would mean we have to code it or find a library to implement in our app. We'll add it to our list to see if we can make this happen in the future for 1Password.

Thanks for sharing your suggestion with us.

  • +1 I was just adding info from a membership card today and wishing I could just snap a picture of the card to include all of the little phone number details, etc that are on the card. Or some cards have bar codes. In these cases, I currently use Evernote, but 1Password should be the right place!

+1 from me too. OCR of the photo would be nice, but I think the ability to simply snap a photo from out of 1password which gets attached directly to an entry would be sufficient as first step. More so, it would be awesome.

I'm seeing the feature being announced in my 1password iOS app but I can't seem to find it. Any idea?

I was just going to Post this request too. Sometimes you forget credit cards or drivers licenses and the photos with the numbers get you by. I even got through airport security once when I forgot my License because I have a photo in another app. Bar Code reader is also excellent then it would have everything.

I would like to request this feature too for the same reasons as others have listed above. There are numerous times I have been asked for a copy of my drivers license. I'd prefer to keep the picture secure so I can readily print a copy.

To the 1Password team - it's an excellent app but it is SORELY missing the ability to use the phone or iPad camera to attach files on the go. I migrated from SPLASHID and they have had this feature for years already. It is one of the most useful features of SPLASHID. I know the thinking of the 1Password team - you want to keep this functionality limited to the desktop since your profit yield is higher on the desktop app and you want people to buy this app. However I travel all over the world and was in Ecuador for six months and am now in New Zealand and Austrailia for two months and I only take my iPad and iPhone on these trips. I really really need a way to merge sensitive photo data with the encrypted files of 1Password like I used to be able to do in SPLASHID. HOW MUCH LONGER DO WE HAVE TO WAIT? Please please please - otherwise 1Password is an excellent app except I would also like to have more preconfigured categories like SPLASHID and Dashlane. I would gladly pay more for these enhancements. The iOS camera neglect is a MAJOR flaw in my opinion. Steve Labo, San Francisco

I also Migrated from a different app called OneSafe that allowed my to save sensitive photos from the camera roll or directly from the camera. I find myself using OneSafe for photos and 1password for the other stuff. I hate having to go between back and forth and would love to be able to use only 1password for all my needs. Please add this feature as soon as possible.

I was trying to take a photo of one of my membership cards and store it in one password for iPhone and I found that this can't be done. Please prioritize this feature.

Me too. I would like to have the function to add photos to 1password. A really helpful function. Dear 1passeord developers: when we will get it???

Guys, you're app is sorely lacking what is essentially a fairly straight forward feature. If I can photograph a business card and have CamCard OCR fill the fields automatically, why can't 1 password do the same? There are actually less fields and a lot less variability for credit and Bank cards than there is with Business Cards. Everyone wants it so please take notice. The first app of this kind that adds this functionality will have a whole bunch of new users migrating from other apps.

And to not have the iOS app able to at least store a cards photo as an attachment, well that just seems like lazy programming. Especially considering the price we pay....

I'm a bit confused. The app on the iOS says that the Pro Features will let me view attachments and has an image of an attached PDF file (see attached image). But I could find no way of creating or viewing attachments on my iPhone. Now I'm learning this is not really a feature on the iPhone 1Password app. What is going on here?!!
