How to get 1PW to work with Apple Mail/GMail

I used 1Password to change my Google password, however I can't see how to copy that password so I can enter it in Apple Mail. I want to copy/paste the new password so Apple Mail can access my Gmail account. Do I have to write it down and manually enter it, or is there an easier way?

    If you hover your mouse over the password in your Gmail record, a button will appear that says "copy." Click that and your password will be sent to the clipboard. From there you can paste it where you like.

    I have attempted to do that several times, but I get an error message, "Unable to verify account name or password". I click on "copy", place my cursor in the Password box, and enter Command/V. Any other ideas?
