Feature request -- background sync

I'd love to see sync occurring in the background on iOS devices (and OS X), even when the app isn't running. Currently, if changes have been made, it can take 15-30 seconds for the updates to be added (via iCloud synching, anyway). Are there plans to add this?

I see that background sync was just added for Dropbox users in version 4.5.1 of the iOS app; why doesn't this work for iCloud?

    Hi @odysseus‌,

    Thanks for the question!

Currently, background syncing through iCloud is actually support right in the OS.

A couple things to note here:

    1. iCloud can sometimes have some natural lag, which may delay the delivery of updates. This is on the iCloud side, and sadly there is nothing we can do about it.

    2. As a clarification, there are two sides to syncing on iOS. First, we have to replicate the data from the sync source (iCloud, Dropbox), and then we have to apply the changes to the local database. So, to be clear, we don't actually sync in the background. We replicate in the background. That is to say, we download all the files in the background. 1Password only syncs (applies the changes) when the app is running. This may explain why you are seeing a slight delay of the new items when launching 1Password.
