Unable to remove 1Password button from Firefox 29 toolbar [Confirmed, will be improved]

The 1Password button cannot be permanently removed from the toolbar in Firefox 29. Removing it by right-click > "Remove from Toolbar", or by using the new toolbar "Customise" interface does remove the button, but it reappears when Firefox is restarted.

I suspect this is related to the removal of the Firefox addon bar.

  • Hi @smacpherson,

That is most likely related. We have some legacy code to maintain the button on the toolbar (Firefox kept losing it in the past, so we had to be aggressive) and we'll be removing those code now that Firefox 29 has been released with a simpler solution for the add-ons.

I don't know exactly when we'll start doing that but I've filed a bug report with this thread, so we can get the process started on cleaning this up.

    Thanks for reporting this!

Same issue. Please fix it :-)
Button is useless on the toolbar because of a button of the 1Password Mini in the Mac OS X system menu.

Thanks for the report! We have an open bug report about this, and will be updating the extension for Firefox 29 in a future update. :)
