I started 1password and it asked me to give phrase or quote, but I never got to set a "Master Password". It goes to the login asking for the password. I tried a few things and it pops up my "hint". I can't figure out how to start over, so basically the program is useless at this point. What can I do to get back to setting the "master password"?

Use this knowledge base article on how to start over.

    Hi @Charliej,

On behalf of Stephen, you're welcome.

Have you been able to get 1Password up and running with your new master password?

Out of curiosity, have you ever used a trial version of 1Password in the past? If yes, that may be why 1Password asked for the master password instead of asking you to set up a new data file, it found an existing data file, and asked for your password to unlock it. Does this sound right to you?

There should be an option on the initial screen to let you create a new data file instead of using an existing data file. We may have to redesign this to make it clear.
