help! total hang of 1P and no response from support [moved to email]

I've been using 1P for years, now on 1P4 no problem untilI I installed most recent update - now I can't run it, just get the spinning beach ball in the desktop app, and Safari browser says it can't find 1P app. How do I reset it? Help!
