Upgrade Failure? [Solution: Re-download App and Try Again]

I had a message today (hopefully from 1Password) inviting me to upgrade the software. I attempted to do that and now all I get when I attempt to open 1Password is "You can't open the application "1Password" because it may be damaged or incomplete." There is a big circle with a line through it over the 1Password Icon as well. I check the FAQ, emailed 1Password about an hour ago but does anyone have any advice? My big concern is I opened my vault to a hacker. Is that possible? The "upgrade" option seemed legitimate. It was not an email but a system generated prompt/box.

I suggest you re-download and re-install the update. If that doesn't work please tell us what version number of 1P4 you are using. So far as I am aware 1P4 (at least) doesn't invite you to "upgrade" although there is an notification centre "update" notification. Perhaps that is what you saw.

(Edit: if you're running the Mac App Store version just use the App Store app to check for updates and download again. If you're using the AgileBits store version go to 1P4 > Check for updates...)
