How to remove icons?

Since upgrading to v4, I have large icons next to all of my entries. These icons serve no purpose. How do I get rid of them?

Preferences > Display > Use rich icons.

This will remove the nice fancy ones but you will still see place holder icons.

I had already done that but I still see large icons next to every entry.

Have you looked at top view? That minimizes the size of the icons. But to best of my knowledge, there is no option to turn icons off completely.

Speaking for myself only, I like the visual cues the icons provide. I'm not trying to convince anyone, just reporting my own prefernce.

What is top view?

Guess the only option in this case is to go back to v3?

In the menu bar, select View > Item List Layout > Top View.

Ah - thanks. I don't like that. I'd like the 3 pane vertical view. Same as v3 just with those damn big a*s icons :|

Thanks for the feedback here! I do apologize that you're not a fan of the icons. I hope that @hawkmoth's suggestion of Top View can make things a bit cleaner for you. :)
